- I bought a new sim from the Cochin airport Airtel retailer. He told me I can get Unlimited calls and Unlimited internet for 1 month if I pay 500 Rs. I confirmed it asking Is internet unlimited and he said yes for 1 month I can use unlimited internet. I gave the money and got it activated. When I started using internet I started receiving alert messages of my data usage. First I thought it’s just a normal message but then in 2 days my usage is 50% over within few hours. Then the alert messages kept coming frequently.To clarify I called call Centre. The agents Murshif and Jijo who was not ready to listen to my complaint neither had known the way on how to talk to customers and Jijo was even shouting at me. They told me Airtel never has unlimited data it’s 1.5GB daily limit which I was not informed while purchasing the sim. The term unlimited is been misused here to get customers buy their service and as a layman without telling me it’s 1.5GB data day limit I wouldn’t know while buying sim. It’s the retailers job to provide right information and in my case he failed to do so. On top of that the call Centre team blames me for not hearing it properly.He even sounded like I’m lying. Call Centre agents even asked me to call the retailer who sold the sim and clarify with him directly rather than calling the call Centre. It’s such a shame to know that Airtel team is not taking care of their customers and knows how to play blame game. I would need to talk to someone who can assist me with my complaint asap.
