Hi Team,

With extreme disappointment and frustration I am writing this complaint to you anticipating fair resolution to my long drawn and unheard issue.

Kindly refer to the mail trail and attachments below for understanding the whole scenario and negligence of Air India Team.

We’d a wedding in fmly on 4th mar’22 in kolkata. Unfortunately a family member expired due 2 which marriage postponed, I was informed on my earlier calls with air india CCE team in feb month that they have put my ticket(0986935345309(Richa Kumari), 0986935631735(Raksha Sharma) and 0986935947359(Vaishali Dushing)) in open category instead of cancellation, which I’ll be able to use in next 12 month for this trip, only I have to pay the fare difference while using the open ticket. Now they are playing games and backing down from their early commitment, saying i’ll have to pay 2600+ charges as ‘Date change charges’ what’s the meaning of open ticket then, and why was I told earlier that won’t be asked to pay any other charges except the fare difference when use my open ticket for flying (Kol-Mum). This is an absolute act of cheating and breach of trust between customer and company. And for the last 2 months I & my family members are chasing them for refunds if they cant remove date change charges. but no response, interim the ticket costs also went so high that we’d 2 book another tickets else charges wud be out of budget.

Present situation – I have been told by Air India Customer care team member just yesterday on a call from them, that I need to carry all the documents (Death certificate, marriage card, ticket etc ) and visit city office Mumbai and ask them for refund basis your case, they will issue the same in full and Customer Care cant process full refund.
And this madam, Duty officer at city office Nariman Point, Mumbai said she wont be able to help and I need to mail delrefunds@airindia.in the whole scenario to get full refund against the cancellation of our open tickets, but no response from their either.
