Sir,
I have been trying to port my current number which is Vodafone idea connection to Jio for the past 15 days. From 17/12/2020 I have been giving them request and they send me the same reply every time saying that I have some contractual obligations with them. So I called up their customer executive to check why this was happening. He advised me to cancel my add on card by going to the Vi store directly. So I went to the Vi store at Panampally, Ernakulam on 19/12/2020 and gave my driver’s licence copy and filled their form to cancel the add on number. The customer care executive confirmed that the sim will be cancelled within 24 hours and that I will be able to port my original number. But even after 3 days I was unable to Port. I again called up the customer care executive and he said that the add on sim has not been cancelled and that it is in “suspended” mode. I explained to him about what had happened and he said he will give a request to delink my plan from family plan to normal one. This went on for days and nothing was happening. I went to the Vi store again on 31/12/2020 and the customer care executive was acting very rudely and said that it has been solved and that i will be able to port within 24 hours. I told her that it is not possible for me to come to the store every time during this pandemic as I have my aged in laws and also young kids at home. She shooed me away sarcastically by nodding her head saying it is resolved. The problem has not been solved. Now they are asking me to send email to the customer care centre. I kept telling all the executives that despite residing at the heart of the city of Cochin I have absolutely no data connection and that I am completely relying on my husband’s phone’s hotspot. My phone is just useless and I feel disconnected from the world. I am humiliated in front of my colleagues when I sit with an iPhone with no data and depend on someone else to share their hotspot to use my phone. I have been paying my bills regularly and I have an excess of ₹150/- with them. I can’t use my google pay for my grocery or even an auto for public mobility. I am pretty sure that they are doing this only to harass me and to save the attrition of my number from their service, so they are making my life hell by hindering to port my number to Jio.
therefore I humbly request this Honourable forum to kindly consider my prayer to ask them to pay ₹10,000/- for the mental and physical harassment I have undergone solely for their arrogant attitude towards me by humiliating me in front of everyone. I also request you to let me exercise my right to retain my own number and port to a service which I prefer. They have absolutely no right to prevent me from doing so.
if the same is not allowed I shall be put to more irreparable loss and damages.
