I decided to port out from Vi to reliance Jio. The next day after the porting process was initiated, a man claiming that he was from Jio asked me to send CANCEL (mobile number) to 1900 to cancel my Vi sim and activate the new Jio sim in 48 hours. He also enquired whether the meeting with the Jio executive went off well. He spoke so convincingly that I was conned. I receive a message from 1900 saying my port out request has been cancelled. I call this person and he asks me for the message so he can “personally enquire” and set it right. I didn’t hear from him again. I had to repeat the port process all over again. I lost valuable time and money in this bargain. It’s shameful that an international company like Vi has to resort to fraud and deceit to force customers to stay on their overpriced network.
