Text of Complaint by Alice:

I would like to file a complaint regarding a fraudulent data entry job posting I encountered on Facebook, specifically in the “Telugu Jobs” group (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DXvfUbfMV/). The job was posted under the name Komal Sharma (Contact No: 96548 10544).

They advertised data entry work promising an income of ₹12,000 per week.

Upon contacting them, they provided PDFs claiming to show the company profile and job description, stating they were a “semi-government” company.

As part of the “initial registration process,” they asked me to pay ₹119, claiming it was necessary to set me up as a freelancer.

After payment, they assigned me a project involving the typing of 15 pages of data (no copy-pasting allowed), and instructed me to submit the completed work to a WhatsApp number +91 97183 82861, under the name Ashifa Khan.

I worked for more than 5 hours to complete the task and submitted it the next day.

Later, they informed me that my work had 90% accuracy and mentioned an “ECS charge” of ₹2800, claiming it was refundable.

I requested them to deduct the ECS charge from my payout instead of asking for another payment. Additionally, I asked for proof of payment to other freelancers under their company name.

Suddenly, they responded by cancelling my project, clearly revealing the scam.

Details:

Name Used: Komal Sharma

Phone Number: 96548 10544

WhatsApp Number for Submission: +91 97183 82861 (Ashifa Khan)

Platform: Facebook (“Telugu Jobs” group)

This entire setup appears to be a fraud targeting job seekers by making them pay small initial amounts and demanding further payments under various pretexts. I request the concerned authorities to investigate and take appropriate action against these scammers to prevent others from falling victim.

Please be cautious and avoid falling for such fake job offers.
