My father, who is 82 years old received a video WhatsApp call from some Priya Sharma on 31/1/24. He assumed it is one of the family friends and picked the call. He is not very tech savvy. Some girl started talking dirty and sending dirty videos. He disconnected and got very perturbed. Then he asked someone to block that number since he doesn’t know how.
Two days later 2/2/2024, he got a call at around 3pm from someone claiming to be from dwarka PS and saying that a girl has complained that you sent dirty videos etc to her. My father said that he is 82 years old and he got the call. The caller said they can’t do anything. They will have to take action.
My father called me all worried and with high BP. I asked for the number and when I put it in true caller, it is registered to someone called VIKRAM GOSHWAMI SHO. so I googled this name and found many reports of this being a scam. I am sharing this number for your further action.
Unfortunately, the number of fake Priya Sharma is not on his phone anymore as it was blocked and reported.
I’m really upset as such incidents can really harm the elderly emotionally and mentally. Please take necessary action. With thanks!
