- I made a porting request to change my network provider from Vi to Jio
- I had completed all the formalities of porting out filed the application for porting to Jio
- After the UPC code was generated and submitted to Jio my port request was accepted and porting was in process
- I received numerous calls from Vi asking me not to port out and offering me discounts.
- I did not agree to stay with Vi and asked them not to call me:
- After an hour I received call from someone identifying himself as Jio representative and asked me to cancel the port request as two UPC codes were generated.
- Thinking it to be genuine Jio representative I sent “CANCEL” to 1900.
- That cancelled my porting request with Jio.
- Actual Jio representative called and told me about this scam and that my porting was canceled and I will have to start the process again.
- The fraudulent call was received from this number: +91 70228 80771
