I have enough balance in my Airtel mobile, but I got a msg as outgoing is expired, but while I bought the SIM card, they promoted the sim as lifetime validity SIM card. I don’t understand how a lifetime validity SIM card’s outgoing expires. To recharge for validity, they have asked to dial *121*51#, but I couldn’t find any option for validity recharge. Please take necessary action to stop this Airtel fraud.

Similar thing happened to me, don’t know what to do, thinking of porting my sim to jio
Use Airtel App. Do Rs 35 smart recharge via Airtel Payments Back (Airtel Money)
Cashback Rs 20 every month
So in Rs 15 effectively validity extend by 28 days
Yes this happens with me also we will take legal action against airtel.
Friends, Seems this is same with all providers directly or indirectly. Please check the following link for better understanding about this issue.

Only Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have started this nonsense. I completely agree with Ashwani Verma (OP). About a decade ago, these companies had charged money to convert old sims into “lifetime validity” sims and I remember paying extra money to Airtel to change my SIM to lifetime validity. I don’t understand how is it legal to force a user to recharge under the threat of validity expiry when their SIM is lifetime validity sim.
I am also facing same problem. Airtel is making it compulsory to recharge with Unlimited/Smart packs
because they offer mobile data. I don’t need Airtel mobile data then why should I pay for this. Airtel Fraud.
facing the same issues. what steps we can take
