Text of Complaint by Vivekanandan:

I have been a victim of an online fraud. I posted an ad for renting my house and guy called Amit Kumar called and said he was interested in renting the property. He said he was going to transfer the advance to my google pay account and asked me to confirm my contact number. Once I confirmed my contact number, he managed to take out 50,00 Rupees at 8.04am from my account without sharing the debit card details, UPI pin or OTP. While I was asking him about this, he manahed to withdran another 50,000 Rupees at 8.07am. I cut the call immediately and called HDFC and blocked my account and went to the police station and filed for an FIR. HDFC have carried out the inverstigation and refuse to share the investigation details with me. The account to which the money was transferred to, Indusind bank have already initiated a debit freeze on the account. My question is, if a fradulent transaction has taken place and reported to the bank with 48 hours, as per the RBI guidelines, should the bank not take the reponsibility to recover the money?
