I had upgraded my set top box under the scheme one airtel plan in which postpaid, DTH/ landline and DTH are covered. As part of this scheme the company offered free upgrade to Airtel Xstream set top box.
I had called and verified to check if there were any charges as part of this upgrade. I called twice to confirm the same. No where during mu conversation did they mention about any charge direct or via debit to my account.
Soon after installation Rs.1500 was charged and debited to my account as service charge. On calling customer care they informed it was security deposit for the set top box.
I strongly believe that the company withheld this information and did not divulge and are taking customers for a ride, by not conveying information about security deposit.
