Text of Complaint by Nadeem Ahmad Mir:

Hi There,
I would like to let let you know I am using the Airtel prepaid services of NCR circle, earlier It was postpaid services. But in May 2020 I decided to switch into the prepaid due to high monthly billing. As we all are aware that most of the companies closed the operations due to the COVID-19 and advised their employees to work from homes and I am one them. I live in Jammu and Kashmir and everyone knows that other states prepaid services are not working, then I got worried regarding my number, again I requested Airtel to switch my prepaid number into postpaid just to stay connected with my contacts. However, I tried to do it from airtelthanks app as advised by Airtel customer care, but was not able to do it and it was not possible to go out at Airtel store due to COVID-19. Finally, I came to my hometown without any solution. But, I requested more then 100 times to Airtel authorities to help me but they denied. There was only one solution to generate the UPC and get circle changed, after 4 months I got a chance to generate the UPC code and I did it on 24th November 2020 and the next day I submitted that UPC at Airtel store for the MNP process. I got the new sim card and got the messages from 121 on my alternate number, even email as well. Also, I got a call from Airtel that your number will be activated in Jammu and Kashmir in 11 days. After, passing the 11 days I went to the Airtel store to know the status of my number, I got shocked to know the status they said that your UPC was expired that’s why your number can not activated. I told them that on 24th I generated the UPC and 25th I submitted to Airtel then how its possible my UPC expired or it was invalid. The UPC which was generated same one was submitted and it was valid till 28th November 2020, then how it was expired. Now, its been one week I am trying to talk with Airtel higher authorities to get my issues sorted out but there is no response from then. Now, they are saying me generate the new UPC code. But its not possible for me because now I am in Jammu and Kashmir. Also, I need around 10k for me to visit Delhi to generate the new UPC code, which is out of my budget.
Now, this is my kind request to you kindly help me in this matter.

Thank you
