Text of Complaint by K. Venkata Rao:

I travelled by business class on AI 127 from Delhi to Chicago on 23-04-2021(Air India Ref: HYMPL). My boarding pass clearly indicated seat no: 8F. But to my horror, I realized that the seat is unserviceable, electrical system does not work and seat does not recline. I am a 70 year old man with major health issues with back pain being the main problem. But I was forced to sit in that condition through out my journey of more than 15 hours and by the time I reached Chicago my condition became more acute with my back and was even unable to walk.
I have undergone mental agony and physical pain due to bad and unserviceable seat in a business class.

The ticket was issued by United airlines (L1R0J9) with my first sector by Vistara airlines from Hyderabad-Delhi. Though the ticket clearly says two free checked bags, the check in counter staff at Delhi airport informed me that only one checked bag is allowed and forced me pay an amount of Rs 20.400 for second bag.
Here, I would like bring to your notice that i am a regular traveler between Hyderabad and Denver/Colorado Springs (USA). As one of the Star Alliance partners along with United airlines , Air India is normally the originating carrier for me from Hyderabad ( except on few occasions when I travelled by Thai Airways ) travelling to US. Never, I repeat NEVER, I had such problem with check in counter staff like I had this time. What ever the United airlines ticket is mentioned, it used to be honored by Air India.
Though, I made several complaints to Air India, there was no response.

Ticket issued by United Airlines:
