Religious Trip: Chennai & Varanasi
Airline: SpiceJet
Refund Reason: Unutilized Credit Shell
Yatra Refund: Rs. 56199
Complaint: Yet no refund received
Dear sir,
I booked SpiceJet Airlines ticket through Yatra.com (PNR #: HCFGRG and Yatra reference #: 2001075115435) for my religious trip with my family to Varanasi on 10May2020 (onwards) & 16May2020 (Return), booked using my debit card on 20Jan2020 for Rs.60,119.
Due to Covid-19 lockdown, flights have been cancelled and SpiceJet maintained my amount in Credit Shell.
As you are aware, Supreme Court has ordered Airlines to refund it’s customers the full amount along with interest for unutilized Credit Shell till 31Mar2021.
I haven’t used the Credit Shell and several times requested refund with SpiceJet and Yatra.com.
On 25Apr21, Mr. Ajith Singh, followed by Mr. Mohammad Akram on 08May21, have mailed me requesting my bank account details to process refund of Rs.56199/-, but yet nothing even after continuous reminder after 2 weeks. In yatra.com, refund status shows no initiation has been made by me and advising me to initiate claim refund, but there is no such process enabled.
I have also registered with Consumer Complaints with National Consumer Forum and Yatra complaints.
My fellow travelers are my parent and my in-laws aged above 70.
I paid for traveling, Airlines cancelled the flight, I am begging for my money to refund. Yatra is playing their game with me.
In India, is it the case of justice. If my money is not into my bank account at the earliest, as a next step I am planning to filing a petition in Supreme Court and with Directorate General of cibil Abiation and with Honarable cibil Aviation Minister, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri.
Thanks.
R. Ganesh
