Dear Shri [Shaktikanta Das ],
Reserve Bank of India 18th Floor, Central Office Building Shahid Bhagat Singh Road Mumbai-400 001.

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of great concern regarding the unauthorized activation and subsequent deductions made by Paytm Sound Box Services from my account. I am deeply troubled by the unfair practices that have been perpetrated against me and many other unsuspecting customers.
In July 2022, I was compelled to close my restaurant due to a medical emergency, which required me to request the deactivation of my Paytm Sound Box. I promptly made request to the Paytm merchant support and a field executive from Paytm collected the sound box within a week. I believed that the deactivation process was completed, as my merchant app also displayed the sound box as deactivated.

However, to my utter disbelief, I recently discovered that the sound box was automatically reactivated after a lapse of three months, without any intimation or authorization from my end. The repercussions of this unauthorized reactivation have been far-reaching. Not only was I charged a monthly rental of approximately 940 Rupees, but the deductions also extended back to November 2022, culminating in a total of 1200/- Rupees being unlawfully deducted from my account.

To make matters worse, my attempts to seek a refund and resolution from Paytm’s customer care have proved fruitless. Despite raising multiple complaints since July 2022 and providing evidence of the unauthorized deductions, I have been met with a lack of responsiveness and empathy. Their refusal to refund my hard-earned money has left me feeling victimized and helpless.
As a law-abiding citizen, I believe in the sanctity of fair trade practices and the protection of consumer rights. It is disheartening to witness the disregard for these principles by a prominent financial service provider such as Paytm. I seek your intervention in this matter to ensure justice is served and that the errant company is held accountable for its actions.

I kindly request the Reserve Bank of India to conduct a thorough investigation into this fraudulent and unethical behavior displayed by Paytm Sound Box Services. Additionally, I urge the RBI to take appropriate action to safeguard the interests of countless consumers who have been subjected to similar mistreatment.
I believe that with your intervention, the regulatory bodies will take necessary measures to rectify this situation and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. I appreciate your attention to this matter and eagerly await a resolution that restores my faith in ethical business practices.
