Uber driver made my mother and me feel unsafe.
First, the driver had black blinds up at the passenger seat. When we requested him to remove them, he said they are glued to the window. Delhi doesn’t allow tinted windows or blinds in vehicles. This is not appropriate with several r@pe and molestation cases in Delhi.
Second, he tried to act smart by not ending the trip after dropping us. Despite attempts to make him complete the trip, he didn’t so I had to cancel the trip at my end.
I raised these concerns with Uber and mentioned that I will not pay for a trip that made me feel unsafe. They responded by saying their drivers are “curteous” and I will have to pay.
Now Uber is forcing me to make the payment for a trip that made me feel unsafe and where the driver was not following protocols.
