I was contacted by someone on WhatsApp asking me if I would like to earn some extra money working from home. No mention was made of investments. From there, you are directed to do a few tasks for Google reviews through the Telegram app. Then you are informed you need to invest to complete the task, or you won’t receive payment. Investment starts small at R200 and then you are drawn into this scam.
From R200 to R1000 to R3000 to R8000 then R32500, the R64000 each time telling you can’t stop in the middle of the task, or the merchant won’t refund you. They try to calm you and say don’t worry after this deposit you will be able to withdraw. “Just complete the task dear” Your account gets frozen, and the merchant won’t refund you if you don’t complete the task. But this never ends.
Please be careful, do your research beforehand.

I unfortunately was also scammed in the exact same way. From the initial start message till the last one. Also started small R200 and ended up paying the below, even making loans.
