Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to register a complaint against online fraud committed through OLX app. The person holding an account named as “Ashwin Kumar Agarwaal” (User id – 508047069) claimed to be the owner of the “Mi Homes” at Vasai Mumbai planned to sell the Google Pixel phone through OLX. The ad was posted along with Title as “Google pixel 4a global unit will Bill Warranty Fixed rate” along with photos & Phone number. The AD ID was “1636659368”. When I inquired about the phone, the user just dropped the phone number (+91-7852937656) in the inbox supposedly to contact the given phone number. When I continued the conversation over Phone call and WhatsApp, the user sent the photos of the mobile phone for which I was dealing with him and tried to negotiate the pricing. As user were fixed about the price, I agreed to proceed with a fixed price of Rs. 22,000/- for the Model – Google Pixel 4a (Seal packed). Once I agreed, he asked about the detailed address, location, 2 contact numbers, Model and colour, after providing him the mentioned details, he sent me a payment link of freecharge for Amount of Rs. 22,000/- (Link – “https://frch.in/YN8wbv8ssgb” (Still Active)), before payment I called him to confirm shall I go for the payment through mentioned link only and once he confirmed, I made the payment through my Axis Bank credit card for the same amount. After payment I asked him for confirmation and he confirmed the payment and said that the mobile will be delivered by 2 to 3 pm at the given address. (mentioned in attached WhatsApp chat) As I called him to confirm whether the mobile was shipped or not, the line was continuously busy and as I got suspicious about it, I tried to call receptively but he deliberately Cut the Call again and again. I called from another number repetitively the phone went switched off and no response was given over WhatsApp as well. As the phone was switched off, I checked the OLX ad which was notified as a suspicious ad after the mobile was switched off. I called OLX customer support to register a complaint and when I told them about the incident the customer care executive confirmed the user is a fraud and asked to go through a legal process to launch a complaint. I also approached the nearest police station (Kasturba Police Station, Borivali) to file the complaint against the same. and also filed a Complaint at Cyber Crime. attached Cyber crime dept Acknowledgement copy for reference. Sir also i would like to add up that, after talking to Axis bank representative, he said the amount for transaction is not yet settled for the time and if we can prove the transaction is void it may det delayed and transaction get cancelled so again requesting you to please please look into the matter and request for help.
