I purchased my mobile on October 15, 2023. In January, I began experiencing several issues, including a malfunctioning volume button, problems with the eSIM, unavailability of the 5G network, WiFi instability, and a black screen following a software update.
On January 20, 2024, I sent my device from Bangalore to the Google Noida service center via Bluedart courier, which was arranged by Google. After a long wait, I received my repaired phone back, but unfortunately, the issues were not fully resolved. While the volume button and display issues seemed to be fixed (I believe the display unit was replaced), the other problems remained unchanged.
In May, I noticed another display issue and took my phone to the Google office through the Rourkela, Odisha walk-in center. I again reported all previous issues, including the eSIM problem, 5G unavailability, and apps auto-closing. After some time, I received my phone back. The screen issue appeared to be resolved once more, but the other problems persisted.
In August, I raised my concerns again and sent my phone to the Bhubaneswar, Odisha walk-in center, mentioning the same issues. Once again, the screen issue seemed resolved, but the network issues remained.
In October, I contacted Google regarding the ongoing network problem. This time, the engineers took over 15 days to respond and requested unnecessary tests on my phone. During this period, my warranty expired, and now they are asking me to cover repair and investigation costs.
To make matters worse, I’m now experiencing additional display issues. Despite my attempts to reach out, Google has been unresponsive and has closed my inquiries without providing a proper resolution.
I advise potential buyers to think carefully before purchasing a Google device. The service centers are limited, and you often have to send your device to their headquarters or factory in Noida. Their customer support is inadequate, and the walk-in centers seem to only serve as collection points without offering helpful information.
