I have been using the number for a decade, initially it was Airtel and I have moved to another network in the middle, then came back to Airtel a long back.
Before 3 days, my sim card stopped working and I tried putting the sim card in another phone but it seems there is an issue with the Sim card.
I visited the nearby retailer as there is no airtel showroom in my locality. They have collected the details and assured that it will get activated in another 3 hours. I have waited and it didn’t worked.
I visited again on the same day and they said there is no details updated in the database, hence the sim swapping is not possible. I came back and mailed to 121. There is no proper response from their side.
I called their customer desk and no wonder they are useless as always. I spoke to a senior executive and his reply is very impressive. Let me list out the points.
- There is no details in their database, but that sim belongs to their network.
- I need to visit the store is the only option I have but there is no airtel store in my locality.
- I asked for any other option but there is nothing to do. The only way is to visit the store even it is 5o Kms far.
- I have a previous airtel fixed line bill which can be taken as a proof, but they dont go for it. It seems they don’t believe themselves.
- I asked him if someone use this sim card for any illegal activities, then its fine for them it seems. Because it is not registered with any name.
- I dont know how many numbers they have issued without any proper proof.
- Airtel is more vulnerable for such activities. better they can shut the network which is of no use to anyone.
