Text of Complaint by Inderjeet Oberoi:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please note that I bought a Sony television from CROMA outlet in Seawoods mall on 12th August 2017 with 1 year brand warranty plus 2 years on the go CROMA warranty (expiring 11th August, 2020). Attached is the invoice for the same (invoice number: SLA141020006205).

A minor defect surfaced on the television screen somewhere in May during lock down.

Although the warranty of my television was valid at that time, but due to lock down nothing was operational and hence I could not log any complain.

Lockdown restrictions at my area in Navi Mumbai started lifting in end July and now the things have started to work slowly.

The CROMA outlet in Seawoods mall in Navi Mumbai is still closed due to restrictions.

I am a small shop keeper running a rented shop and I got engaged in restarting my shop and I have lost a lot during this lock down.

By great difficulties I managed to contact Croma customer care few days back on 25th of August and I explained them everything.

They denied the liability by saying that the extended warranty of my television is expired and they will not pay anything towards the repairs and I will have to pay the repair cost from my pocket.

The registered complain number with CROMA is BOF270820FS00256.

To my understanding, this is not correct as the problem surfaced in May when the warranty was still valid.

Even if not, then if I assume Suo Motto, then I should get some grace period for the warranty time lost during lock down.

I also came to know that lot of insurance companies and other sectors have extended there validities and expiries by few months to pass on the benefit of lock down time lost to the customers.

But CROMA is denying my claim.

I have lost a lot during this lock down and have been pushed back by many months.

I am under tremendous pressure for restarting back my shop and at the same time I am not been given what is mine by CROMA.

I don’t know what to do and hence I seek your assistance in this matter.

Can you please help me?

Kind Regards,
