Telegram appears to ignore complaints about scammer channels and users. I’ve dealt with scammers and try to expose them by chasing them off groups I moderate or when they add me to an obvious scammer channel trying to sell crypto. Some of these scammers find my objections to their scams to be “rude” and they report me for “bullying.” Per Telegrams response:
It really doesn‘t matter what you send, as long as the receivers find it unwelcome. It could have been a photo, an invite link or a chain letter. Please only send messages when you are sure people won’t mind getting them.
As a general rule, people don’t like receiving unsolicited advertisements, links, invite links to groups or channels, random photos and, above all, anything related to commerce or promotion of any kind.
Our moderators check all reports, so if you send annoying content to strangers you will be blocked.
This is complete BS. This is a cut and paste answer. Just look at all these complaints. I’ve been blocked, banned, and put in timeout by Telegram for exposing criminal activity. This needs to be addressed.
