TataSky has provided a setup box for my SD TV and was working till the last firmware/software was updated by triggering this update from the network. the setup box has stopped working after this software upgrade.
When raised the complaint, a technician has visited the place with a new box to confirm that the existing box is getting into hung state and can’t be repaired but, has to be replaced with a new box.
The complaint is about, Tata Sky is trying to release backward incompatible software to arm twist its customers from migrating to old setup box to new setup box. I don’t mind if this is free. But, the cost has to be borne by customer. Tata Sky also is not ready to share the details of the number of setup boxes that they have replaced by charging customers.
when Tata Sky could publish the number of subscribers, they could also publish the trend of the replacement boxes that they are doing.
