Hello,
on 31 Jan 2021 I made a bill payment towards wrong Tata sky account. Instead of my account I paid it towards my aunts Tata sky account which was inactive status as she passed away in July 2020. On Feb 1st I called Tata sky and informed them the payment has been made incorrectly and requested them to return the money, complaint was taken with the complaint number 2N8F7979. The same day the complaint was closed and I was told they cannot help me as I did not use their portal to make the payment and was asked to contact my bank. Contacted my bank HDFC customer care, associate placed the call on hold for 45 minutes, immediately walked in to the branch and branch manager asked me to raise a complaint online ref no HD0121033669570 DATED 02/02/2021. No responce from HDFC until 02/28/2021 again called customer care associate informed me branch gave wrong information and he escalated and raised a fresh complaint ref no HYDC0221031108 who also asked me to send an email to support@hdfcbank.com. Received call from HDFC complaints department asking me to send them proof which say merchant cannot return the money, called Tata sky requested for them to send an email and immediately forwarded the same to HDFC. No response from HDFC until 04/17/2021, hence called them to know the status. I was informed as its a genuine transaction no refund can be given.
I want to raise a complaint against Tata sky & HDFC for the time taken, for giving me wrong information and for not returning my money which was paid in error to a wrong account.
I feel the merchant and bank are playing with customer’s money. If I don’t pay or late, both of them charge me late fee or what not and when they make mistakes there is no action taken.
I want sever action to be taken against both of them and request a compensation to be paid to me for the stress and time i have been spending in getting a solution for the error which happened by me.
