My TataSky Id 1103273973..

I was having disturbed service from Tatasky since last 1 year.

The picture could be revealed when the main switch was turned off and on and I complained several times and asked for a Technician to attend. No one attended giving excuse of Covid situation. They kept on instructing over phone to do some technical stuff which I was unable to understand. Then Tatasky kept asking me to upgrade the Settop box. I had no option left but to order for a new set top box to get an uninterrupted service and to my astonishment the technician came running to my house after that.

My old settop box was not even checked whether it was faulty or not and taken away on that day ie. July 12, 2021 and I had to pay Rs. 2000 to Tatasky.

I kept on paying Rs. 363, every 3rd day of month as monthly charges though I got bad service without any options left.

I paid Rs. 363 on 3rd September 2021 as usual.
Then suddenly on 8 of September 2021 I tried to download the Tatasky App on my phone, which is free as I missed some news. I couldn’t download the same as there was space problem with my android phone.

Suddenly to my dismay Tatasky deducted Rs. 299 from my account without my permission and Service was deactivated at 12.30 midnight. There was no information sent, no permission taken, no sending of OTP and when I called the next day they said Rs. 299 was charged for Tatasky Binge activation. I had no clue how was Binge activated or who did it. When I refused to accept Binge, they deactivated it immediately and said money cannot be refunded.

So I mailed to nodal desk and help desk atleast 7 to 8 times, called them 15 to 20 times, asked them, if refund was not possible then atleast to activate Binge as 299 has been deducted from my account. But they didn’t refund, nor activate Binge and kept on texting me for paying Rs. 363 again on 11 September, ie today wheras I have already paid Rs. 363 on 3ed day of September for the services of September.

This is a sheer fraudulent act of harassment and cheating a loyal consumer for more than 1 year.

To summarize-

1. Creating a situation so that as a lay man I am forced to upgrade and purchase Settop box paying Rs. 2000/-.

2. activate Binge without permission,

3.deduction of money from account without permission..

4.deactivating Binge and yet not refunding the money.

5 refusing reactivation and embezzlement of the money paid for the service.

There has been a lot of mental and financial harassment since last 1 year. I have dropped office, missed important programs on Television and above all had to call and receive calls in the midst of my professional meetings several times a day to resolve the issue without any help from Tatasky.

I have suffered grave financial and mental damage for this harassment. This cheating and fraudulent act towards a loyal Consumer seeks immediate legal attention else they will do the fraudulence with more Grahaks in the long run. Many have fallen victim due to this ongoing scam by a big company like Tatasky.

My total Monetary loss remains as Rs.6655/- (Includes 1 year of bad sevice charges, Topup charges and the Binge cost Deduction without providing service) and if the level of harassment and interruption be valued, for a Senior Political person like myself, (State Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, West Bengal) it should be atleast Rs. 500,000/- roughly estimated.

I am therefore legally entitled to compensation and remedy for the unreasonable, arbitrary and unfair mental and financial trauma and illegal deduction of money from my Tatasky Account without any notification or consent.
