Tata Play is selling Android boxes as Tata PLay Binge scheme where they are selling CPE to customers under the agreement as shared here https://www.tataplay.com/cms-assets/inline-files/Sale-STB-Scheme-19Apr22.pdf
As per this agreement the CPE belongs to the subscriber as well s 1999 rupees was charged for the sale of the equipment to me.
This is clear manipulative practice where a customer is being forced to choose a subscription and shows malafide intent by Tata play to sell the device under wrong pretext of transferring ownership to the customer but control the usage of the device.
I’ve decided to disconnect Tata play subscription as i prefer watching OTT service only now that my account is deactivated by fradulent means Tata Play has deactivated the whole box causing abruption of my usage of the CPE system to view OTT apps directly.
They are neither unwilling to reimburse the cost incurred on buying the box nor willing to uninstall their app from the equipment owned by me. This has caused damage to the equipment owned by me rendering it useless.
Please resolve this malafide and surreptitious practice which is unbecoming of an enterprise carrying the Tata logo
