Subject: Complaint Regarding Warranty Denial – Trimmer Purchased on 26 February
Dear Poorvika Management,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding the service I received at the Poorvika showroom in Kallakurichi.
On 26 February, I purchased a trimmer worth ₹1500, which was advertised with a 5-year warranty. At the time of purchase, I checked the product and it was functioning properly.
However, when I used the trimmer, it automatically dismantled while running, and I noticed that the blade inside was already rusted, which clearly appears to be a manufacturing defect. I did not cause any damage to the product.
On 4 March, I visited the Poorvika Kallakurichi showroom and requested an exchange or warranty claim. Unfortunately, the staff initially refused and said that the warranty could not be applied. Later, a senior staff member also stated that exchange was not possible.
This response is disappointing because I was earlier informed that warranty can be claimed at any Poorvika showroom. In fact, I previously purchased an air cooler and washing machine from the same showroom on 5 November 2025, and the staff assured that warranty service would be supported.
I would like to ask the management:
• If the product carries a 5-year warranty, why is a manufacturing defect not covered?
• Why are customers being told different information at the time of purchase and during service?
• Why are customers being refused warranty claims without proper inspection?
The customer service experience was very poor, and I felt the staff were trying to mislead the customer instead of resolving the issue.
The product cost may be ₹1500, but customer trust is far more valuable. If such service is given for small purchases, it raises serious concerns about support for higher-value products.
I request the Poorvika management to look into this matter and provide a proper resolution through warranty replacement or service.
