Subject: Complaint against Flipkart for false advertisement and cancellation of sofa purchase
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to file a formal complaint against Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce platforms, regarding an incident of false advertisement and unjustified cancellation of my sofa purchase. I am deeply dissatisfied with the services provided by Flipkart, and I seek your intervention and assistance in resolving this matter.
On [July 01 2023 ], I placed an order for two sofas on Flipkart’s website. The order was confirmed, and I received an email notification acknowledging the purchase. The sofas were advertised as a “deal of the day,” indicating a substantial discount from the original price. Excited about the offer, I proceeded with the purchase, relying on the credibility of Flipkart as a reputable online marketplace.
However, to my dismay, a few days later, I received a notification from Flipkart stating that my order had been cancelled by the seller without providing any reason or explanation. This sudden cancellation came as a shock, as I had already made the purchase decision based on the advertised deal and had been eagerly awaiting the delivery.
Upon contacting Flipkart’s customer support, I was met with unhelpful and vague responses. They failed to provide any satisfactory explanation for the cancellation and instead offered a mere apology for the inconvenience caused. This is completely unacceptable, as I believe that as a consumer, I have the right to transparent and fair business practices.
It is evident that Flipkart has engaged in false advertisement, misleading me into making a purchase based on a deal that was not fulfilled. This not only amounts to a breach of trust but also violates the consumer rights enshrined in the Consumer Protection Act. I strongly believe that Flipkart should be held accountable for their deceptive practices and the subsequent inconvenience caused to me as a customer.
In light of the above circumstances, I kindly request the Consumer Court to take the following actions:
1. Direct Flipkart to provide a detailed explanation for the cancellation of my sofa purchase and the false advertisement that led to my decision to buy.
2. 2. Compel Flipkart to compensate me for the mental harassment, inconvenience, and wasted time caused due to their actions.
3. 3. Initiate necessary legal proceedings against Flipkart for violating consumer rights and engaging in deceptive practices.
4. 4. Issue suitable orders and penalties against Flipkart to ensure that such incidents are not repeated and that they implement stricter measures to protect consumer interests.
I have enclosed copies of all relevant documents, including the order confirmation, cancellation notification, and correspondence with Flipkart’s customer support, for your reference and perusal. I trust that the Consumer Court will examine my complaint thoroughly and deliver justice in this matter.
I eagerly await a prompt response and a resolution to this issue. I have faith in the Consumer Court’s commitment to upholding consumer rights and holding companies accountable for their actions. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
