Text of Complaint by Shravan Dhage:

I have a VI number for the last 3-4 years or more. Recently I have come out of India for a longterm work requirement, once reached here I mistakenly damaged SIM card by putting in another phone. I tried to reach out to the VI store but they were stating that we can’t give new SIM cards to your friends, either of the blood relatives should be present. Even VI stores are not available in all of the cities, so, fortunately, my 75-year-old mother was traveling to Mumbai so I asked her to visit the VI store at Andheri at Sahar Plaza complex Andheri Mumbai. At the store, the consultant provided a new SIM card (SIM Exchnge), which later I asked one of my friends who was flying here to bring with him. I was happy to receive it, but the post I insert the sim in any phone, the “Network” is showing as “No Service”. I tried 3-4 phones even Androids, is giving an error that couldn’t register the network. Post calling VI services they are playing the blame game, it’s your phone issue, it may be an issue with the store, etc. but no one is looking into it and activating the number. The last response I received was “Sir, you will have to come to the VI store to activate your number”, Really? then why the VI store person provided a new physical SIM card which does not work, for a joke? to play with people’s emotions?

Not sure, how to complain but it’s affecting my bank-related transactions as I can’t send money. Can anyone help in this case?
