My sim was found to be not working and post initial checks I went to a near by Airtel store for getting issue resolved. I was issued a replacement sim and documents taken and told it would be activated in 4 hrs. I checked back under 2 hrs and was told my documentation was rejected and I was asked to drop by.
I was told photo was not matching between the live photo and documentation and was asked to provide another document proof which was done as well. All questions non what exactly is not matching was not answered by the staff or manger who were present in the next seat. After the second document submission I was told to repeat the process of going back and I insisted on waiting for status and asked if there is a way to get details of the first rejection. Ryan who was working at the counter said that they don’t have the information.i spoke to the manager as well and said that the documentation and the initial connection was taken from the same office in 2018. Upon insisting and cross questioning they finally reach to Bangalore office and after 6+ hours of wait I end up getting a copy of initial documents which had a different picnattached to my application. This was a goofup with their store and they seem to have done that 3 years back. I was told on 10th Nov evening that the documentation for approval has been sent ot Bangalore CSG team and it is escalated and it should be good to go on Nov 11th where they would decouple my wife’s phone and cancel my connection and reinitate the same number.it has been over 24 hrs and I still do not have a closure or communication from the store and when I called up they said they do not have an ETA or clarity on when this will be done.
