Hi Team,
I had approached to Shine.com for resume writing and done the payment of INR 5310.00/- on 13th evening after 6pm.
On 14th Mr. Suraj Sharma contacted me and asked me to come online as some more procedures are following. He never told me of full package for the services or anything. He informed me that I need to get the authentication service in order to get my CV done and make it visible. I was NOT happy as I clearly told him why then I was not informed this from the beginning. He tried to convince me a lot and told me that it is the last service I need to purchase. After a long discussion I agreed and paid the amount of 7197.00/-. Immediately he sent me another link and told me that I also need to pay for this service, which annoyed me a lot. I was not happy at all and I informed him that the same things is getting repeated again. I don’t see any transparency and I am not comfortable is doing the payment as it was again not informed me. I asked him for refund and to connect me with his manager. He get me connected with Someone Called Shiva and he told me that the earlier amount what I have is paid is non- refundable. And I need to trust them. Again Suraj told me that it is the last transaction. After 1hr of discussion I paid the amount as I never wanted to lose the earlier amount. Again as soon as I paid the amount of 12034.00/-, Suraj sent me another link and asked me to that payment of 17227.00/-. And this time I decided not to pay anymore and realised that it is a SCAM/TRAP altogether. But was quite surprised that why such a reputed Organization will stoop into these kind of petty activities to earn money.
So I sent them a mail immediately to refund me the amount and till that time I had not received any of the services. Suraj responded me again saying that the amount is Non-Refundable. This time, I went to company website and i could see that he is actually incorrect. “Refund if any will be at the sole discretion of Us. We offer no guarantees whatsoever for the accuracy or timeliness of the refunds reaching the users card/bank accounts. We give no guarantees of server uptime or applications working properly. We undertake no liability for free services.”. So there is refund policy.
After complaining to Shine, Suraj called me again and informed me that I need to prove about all the discussion if i have to get the money refund. Unfortunately I did not have any recording, as I never imagined that I will end up in this situation. And it was a call from Shine, so I trusted.. Though it is not just a matter of money, still it is a huge psychological torture to recall the whole proceeding. I wish it should not happen to others. I am sure Shine need to be much more transparent and do ethical approach for doing business. Not I am not sure why they are not ready to refund money when I had immediately informed them that I am not availing any services. I am sure they would have all the system recorded calls to verify my claim. Anyone will be able to check how the conversation went and how uncomfortable I was doing the payment each time due to lack of trust and transparency. I am sure Shine must be getting lots of customers. So why they want to enjoy someone’s hard earned money when I am not at all ready to avail the service as there is no more trust and I had informed them immediately to refund the money.
I am sure Shine was started with some values and ethics. I Am even sure the CEO would have put lots of effort with some vision and target. Seems like only Target is left now without any vision, value and ethics. It is one of the biggest and successful brand in India and deals with career of the people. Sad to see that the business ethics has been compromised by some and the organization is getting an bad name. plz.. Save the brand, Save the TRUST. Shine have more potential and can do even better.
Now i am not sure how can i get the refund from them spread an awareness about Shine.com. I hope they will correct the business model.
