I looked for secondhand phone on OLX and found a seller and asked him
details about his phone We negotiated the amount to 4000INR He initially
said I need to pay some delivery and a deposit amount of total 350INR and
giving an assurance of paying the remaining amount 3650INR after I have
received the phone on which we agreed upon He then sent me few photos
of the product being packed and ready for delivery After a while I got a call
from the delivery guy saying that there has been a technical issue so I am
not able to see the address so for address approval and for him to deliver
the product I must deposit half the deal price that is 2000INR I said I could
only manage 1000INR he said okay make that amount i forwarded him the
amount but after few minutes he again called and said only by doing
2000INR he will be able to proceed i again credited him 1000INR and yet
again he said I need to pay the remaining amount or 2000INR so that the
parcel reaches me I paid him 1650INR and still did not get the parcel After
many calls in which they threatened me of them being army personnel and
they will file a complaint against me FIR and what not Even after all this
they still were persistent about the amount My brother took over the phone
and they were so bluntly saying yes we scammed you and abused us said
that no one can even touch them they are safe and challenged us to
complaint whosoever we want and searched over the internet and found
lots of such olx army scam incidents occurred
