While walking out of a mall a guy approached with SBI card
He only demanded the payment slip that I used to pay when I walked out of grocery store, he had targets to meet, hence requested if I could apply, I didn’t have to use it anyway. So I just signed the forms and applied.
Then later I received a package with SBI Card, with which there were some insurance by cholamandalam already done and some odd bill around 1200 rs, I chose not to continue with this card as even before touching or activating it it was used for some transaction.
I kept calling SBI call centres etc to cancel the card, I even wrote emails for the same which never got delivered
We are talking about SBI here, the typical bias about government organisations is more real here, nothing and nobody works
Then started a series of bills which kept getting higher with the late fee etc
I decided to keep up my fight, then came series of phone calls harassing me to pay, or they would just listen to my story and give no resolution
Finally, I still haven’t paid it
I have only one another account in ICICI of nearly 10 years now which I have never defaulted and all payments made are on time
No loans and no default
But My Cibil is screwed because of that card, the card shows closed but now another imaginary account and card shows active in the name of Encore Asset Management, they don’t bother to check or call or ask for the money nor that I would be willing to even if it were a 100 rs demand.
I was not wrong, so I won’t pay for someone else’s incompetence (SBI)
Btw it’s close to a decade now, and these credit score management companies just treat all the defaulters as same
A 1k outstanding or a 1Cr outstanding, the persons cibil is poor by no method of calculation of the worth of the person and his dedication to other accounts
