Recently [ 19th Sept. ] Idea sent me two sms thanking me for downloading :
- Parent Pack Rs. 99 and 2. Fun Portal from Carbun8 Rs. 22. A total of Rs. 121 out of about Rs.145 I had.
- I had sent sms to stop them within seconds of the sms but it wasn’t and the money was taken from my airtime. I sent many sms.
- I called the IDEA consumer number 12345 and complained twice – at first the lady said it would be “refunded in 24 hours”. Then after 2 days I called again only to be told that “the customer should have complained with 24 hours to be refunded”.
- I used the vodofoneidea consumer complaints email address to put it in writing and there has been no reply from 25th September, 2020.
- This is a clear case of cheating the customer as the sms is given thanking the customer for Rs 99 and then Rs 22 although the option to “STOP” it was there – it did NOT make any difference. Is this legal ?
- Then when I called them the lady first told me that the money would be refunded. Later the lady gave a lame excuse. How can they expect me to call them when there was an option to sms and STOP both these choices I did not make. I thought I had opted out by replying “STOP” as they mentioned.
- What should the customer do now to get back the cash ? Please let me know or assist in this.
- I have noted that there are very many like me who have similar problems like mine when I checked the internet. Is this fair as now I fear to recharge my phone due to this. How can we live like this ?
