Hello,
My husband had Religare health insurance policy in year 2017.
He expired in june 2020 due to COVID19. Now insurance company is denying insurance coverage for COVID19 and sum assured to my family.
Questions arises how come this pandemic is not covered, I’m sure there should be some IRDA instructions on this.
Secondly, policy was taken in 2017, COVID19 was unknown at that time so logically this won’t get mentioned in any critical illness exclusion list.
If anyone takes the policy and in future there happens to be another such illness this means the insurance will not get covered. This is straightforward cheating and fraud where consumer are buying policy of hefty amount and end up getting not covered at all.
Any guidelines, guidance from anyone would be helpful for me to get my rights and justice.
Thanks.
