I received a call from someone claiming to be from Reliance Nippon Life, she told me that I have a policy from Reliance Nippon and had a huge surrender value of 1,86,640/- and gave me a number of relationship manager called Abhishek Chauhan mobile No. 8585946189 to contact. He in turn demanded my ID papers for doing KYC. He did have my address.
There was no policy, no details of policy but a demand for payment of outstanding insurance premium. I was to pay 50000/- and in 23rd dec 2025 I will get over 6 lakhs as maturity bonus. It was too good to be true and I told him so.
There were a few of his missed call but he did not send policy.
It was obvious by now that it was a scam to make me pay on false pretext but what was most glaring that the web page was so real. It looked like a genuine site.
