Regarding HIGH BILL ( 10 TIMES THAN USUAL ) due to FAULTY METER – REQUIRES URGENT REPAIRING OR REPLACEMENT

Dear Sir,

My bill for the month of June is showing 23000 approx which is very high bill that is 10 times of  our normal bill. The bill appears to be unreasonably inflated as I know for certain that our consumption of electricity is not so high as to warrant such a high bill. We have been staying in this house since 1.5 years and usually get a bill between 1600- 3500 max not above that in any month .I fail to understand the bill of Rs  23000 which is ABSURD and not possible at all .

 All previous bills in the last 1.5 YEARS WERE BELOW OR EQUAL TO 3000 NEVER ABOVE THAT .

Following is the amount paid for the last 6 months.

  1. June –          2110
  2. May –          1740
  3. April –         3410
  4. March –       1560
  5. Feb –           1480
  6. Jan –            1850

What could have warranted for such a high bill and high unit consumption for the month of June that the bill amount jumps from average of Rs. 2000-2025 to Rs. 23000+.

Furthermore , as per your readings, our average for past two months is 211 units as per the data shown on your site. You have taken the reading on 15th June which was 2252 and I took the reading on 23rd June which is 2474. This implies that I am using 222 units for the period of 8 days, which is more than the average billing units? There’s something wrong with the meter. How can I consume 222 in 8 days when my average for 30 days is 211? The Meter is shooting high every passing hour, so it is very very urgent .Unless it is resolved we are not going to pay this bill so kindly resolve this matter at the earliest .

I request you to please look in this matter seriously and urgently and send your person to check our meter and replace the faulty meter. Please inform us the reason why am I getting so much excess bill and when are you going to send your person to check our meter. I appreciate if this matter of unfair excess billing is resolved at the earliest.

Waiting for your immediate action as the bill is TOO HIGH and the units are increasing every hour .
