Recently I got a message through whatsapp, “I’m an advocate. You have applied for work from home job where the job is to fill captchas for 10 days. But you have failed to do the job so you have to pay the penalty of Rs 6,700. Otherwise you will face legal issues where you have to pay huge money”.

After reading the message I was shocked for a moment! But still some questions were raised in my mind!!

In a company if a staff has not completed the task, the company should contact them. Why an advocate is coming in the middle? So I thought to call the advocate who have messaged me.. But it was switched off.. But still he is in online. So I tried to call him through whatsapp, he is declining it. I thought this issue is something fishy!!

I have searched the advocate’s name in internet. Three members were there in the same name but three of the numbers are not matching with this number. later I have asked to send his ID proof, he ignored it. So there I have partially decided that he is not an advocate..

After that, I was asking him number of questions.. At last he sent me an agreement in a pdf form where it was from “ADVOCATE MINHAZ”.. I have searched about the advocate in the internet. It was clearly mentioned that he is a fraud lawyer..

Immediately I have blocked him.. Later I didn’t get any messages from him. If I get any messages here after, I directly send the screen shots of his messages and the agreement in the twitter and tweet the cyber crime office.

In this pandemic situation most of us are searching for jobs and trying some or other way to earn money. Some people are taking this as an advantage and playing with our lives.. So please everyone be careful while giving your details.. And make sure that you won’t give any bank related details to any one.
