Text of Complaint by Ruthwik N:

I have booked a Zoomcar without fuel option which gave a free ride of 180kms. I have picked up the car at the parking location after completing the checklist. But At the fuel gauge checklist, the zoom car application showed the fuel is at 36% of the tank. I did not have any option to edit or change it but only to upload the image.
So, I have uploaded the image which clearly shows that the fuel was less than 36% of the tank. The fuel gauge is analog and does not show any information of percentage value such as 36%. But it clearly shows that it was less than 25% if calculated mathematically or logically. But as I was in a hurry and did not want to delay any more time, I went ahead and picked up the car.
But just after a few 1-2kms, the fuel tank went into reserve mode. So, I traveled a few more km until I found a Fuel station on my side of the lane near Mettiguda Cross Roads and fueled up the car for Rs 550/- and paid the amount through the UPI application “Phonepe”. The fuel rate was around Rs 104 per liter. So, Rs 550 of petrol gives around 5.288ltrs, let’s assume as 5.2ltrs. Assuming if the car has the least average mileage of 10kms per liter, with the amount of fuel I put into the zoom car, it should easily give 52kms.
At the time of pickup, the odometer reading was 11245 km and at the time of drop at the zoom service center, the odometer reading was 11298 km. Therefore, the total distance traveled is 11298-11245 = 53 km. And the distance I can travel for the fuel I put into it is 52km. But still, the application has charged me for the fuel and is requesting me to pay Rs 77 more. I was charged 1076rs for fuel. The amount of fuel I put into the car was enough to travel 53km. Before picking up the car, I asked the car owner himself if the fuel is 36% as indicated in the application, and he confirmed that it is less than 36% but will travel for 50km. Based on this assurance, I went ahead confirmed the pickup even if it showed 36% because I was not able to change the percentage of the fuel. And I have already paid a huge amount of Rs 10000/- to you “ZoomCar” and also you guys have also taken my safety deposit to charge me for fuel and ask me to pay Rs 77 more. What is this unprofessional behavior? This is completely insane and illogically. I want my safety deposit of Rs 999 to be refunded to me immediately. This kind of unscrupulous and unethical behavior from you has blown away the impression I had of Zoomcar Rentals.
This is very unexpected of you to deal with such a situation, Just reimburse or refund the safety deposit amount of Rs 999. In the attached images, it is clearly shown that at the time of pickup the fuel gauge was not 36% and not in reserve mode, and at the time of drop even though it is in reserve mode it is very close to the same indication line of the fuel it had while picking up. Please resolve this issue and tell Zoomcar to refund the safety deposit amount of Rs 999. I have photographs of all transactions, odometer reading, and fuel readings as proof.
Thanks & Regards
