Text of Complaint by Mathew Mammen:

Dear Sir,
I have been fighting with Vodafone since March 2020 with regards to refund of ₹8867.46/- which was charged on my number, illegally & unauthorisedly, for International usage. Sir Im a very small MSME business person, kindly help me.
My case here is :
I had to travel outside India in February 2020. Before travelling, I had activated the International Roaming service by using Vodafone App services, and then calling the customer care & visiting the Vodafone store. Everyone confirmed to me that the Roaming pack is active, but I didnt get any SMS confirmation. But I went ahead with their confirmation !
After I landed at the international destination, I started receiving SMSes from Vodafone regarding usage charges for incoming & outgoing calls made by me. I then deputed my son in Mumbai to enquire about this & get it sorted.
After contacting the Vodafone store executive, they informed that the International Roaming pack has been auto deactivated by the system itself.
Because of this I incurred an additional expense of ₹8867.46/- on account of Vodafones system lapse & error, whereas as a customer I had done every possible things to get the roaming pack activated before I left the country. This unfair trade practice of Vodafone, has caused a loss of ₹8867/- to me.
I tried to register the complaint with Vodafone authorities (on February 2020) by going to Vodafone store, by calling Customer care executives – but no one helped me. I then finally emailed the Appellate Authority of  Vodafone with all proofs (on March 2020) & clarified my stand & told them to waive off this ₹8867/- and that i will not pay, because this was not my fault.
But during Lockdown, they disconnected my number for non payment of this amount. To keep my number running I had to pay this amount from my loan account (with 12% interest per annum).
I continued my fight & finally on 29th December 2020, Vodafone admitted their mistake & agreed to refund ₹6747/- out of ₹8867/-.
I agreed to this on 2 conditions;
1. Pay 12% interest per annum on ₹6747/- from March 2020 till January 2021,(this is because I paid the vodafone bill from my loan account during hardtimes of Covid lockdown ; also, Vodafone levies late payment charges for delayed payments. so in all logic, vodafone is also liable to pay the same to customers)
2. I want the refund amount in cheque in my favour & not as adjustments in my Vodafone account.
The executive told me on 4th January 2021 that, the refund of ₹6747/- will be issued by cheque in my favour & the cheque will reach me by 9th Feb 2021.
Now, THE REAL PROBLEM STARTS – On 2nd Feb 2021, I received an another mail stating that my cheque will reach me by 9th March 2021.
Firstly, Vodafone isnt paying me the interest for delayed payments AND on top of it, Vodafone is playing delaying tactics for non payment of my due.

Note : I have proof (Emails & Phone recordings) of each and every conversation with Vodafone executives from Feb 2020 till date.
