I had booked a holiday package from Hyderabad to Maldives from April 7th to 11th 2021 (BOOKING ID: NL2221162534964, Amount: 3, 11, 256/-) but unfortunately I was tested Covid Positive with Corad4 and we were unable to travel. I was hospitalized and I was not advised not to travel until April 15th. My whole family was effected. When I asked my travel agent to postpone the date, she canceled the booking with a high penalty and stopped answering to my calls, messages and emails. When I escalated the issue with the Hyderabad area sales manager, I somehow got a call from my seller and RO and was told that they are unable to process the full refund and they are trying for the same with the airlines and hotel (Note: All my medical reports have been emailed to MMT, GoAir and Maldives Resort)
So, I followed up with the airlines and when I explained my situation to GoAir representative, they successfully processed the refund to MMT in parts (on 29th March and 8th April). I also contacted the resort and they sent me an email asking me to claim the full amount from the travel agent at the earliest. I sent confirmation emails from airlines and resort to MMT. But the refund has not been processed by MMT into my bank account yet. It’s been so long, they have not been responding at all. I have no update from MMT and I am not sure what’s going on. I was unable to get in touch with the customer care also. Now even the sales manager stopped answering my calls.
At the time of booking, I was told that they will either push the date or process the full refund without any charges in case of medical emergencies due to Covid. But now they are more concerned about deducting some kind of fees and also haven’t returned the amount refunded by airlines and hotel. The most annoying thing is that they don’t even bother to answer my calls or provide any resolution.
It’s unbelievable that a simple issue like a refund for booking can take so much time to process. MMT service used to be good till about a few years ago. But now they have become careless, their customer representatives have become arrogant and experience with them has just become horrible.
I would request to look into this matter of such pathetic service given out to customers in such times of distress.
