Text of Complaint by JAVED HABIB:

I ordered a hard disk from Amazon India on October 11th, 2023 for my father-in-law in India. However, when the product was delivered, it turned out to be a CPU hard disk that was rusted and not what I had ordered. My father-in-law was unaware of what a hard disk looked like, so he didn’t say anything and called me to help him transfer his data from the laptop to the hard disk. However, he couldn’t connect the hard disk to the laptop due to a lack of wire. When I asked for a picture of the hard disk, I realized that it was not what was shown in the picture on the website. I contacted customer care, and they asked me to upload a picture of the product. A few days later, they asked me to return the product as it was not what I had ordered. On October 24th, the product was returned by the courier services chosen by Amazon. I asked for a refund several times, but they said they were investigating the matter. Eventually, they asked me to contact them on December 3rd. On December 5th, they informed me that they wouldn’t be able to provide a refund as the product I had returned was not similar to what I had ordered. I explained that I had returned the same product I had received and uploaded the picture as proof. However, Amazon refused to send me a picture of the product they had received. I requested them to refund my money as they had both the hard disk and my money, but they refused to do so.

What’s surprising is that Amazon investigated the case without the vendor receiving the product.
