Text of Complaint by Yash Khosla:

I made a reservation(Booking Id- LOIA1706) for 2 days on 8th August 2022 at around 7:30pm for 8th-10th August 2022. I called the hotel (Hotel Mannat, Noida sector 10) to inform that I will check-in in an hour and the hotel staff told me “Your room is available and are exited to serve”. When I reached hotel they suddenly changed their tone and said “We cannot take your booking as the price is less and we take oyo bookings seriously. If you want to check-in you will have to pay 2000Rs. then we can let you check-in or you can ask OYO to help you with your bookings. I called OYO for help and then what I witnessed is a complete scam. The number that OYO provides gives you only two option either to make a new booking or to check on upcoming reservations. I selected the option of New Booking so that I can atleast speak to someone and get number of support team. I called and addressed my concern and they told they will redirect me they told me to press 2 when they redirect. I was waiting and then the prompter asked to get help for booking press 2(there was no 1). I pressed and then it asked me to press 1 to go back to the main menu and press 2 to go to the previous menu. What?? I was shocked. The call never re routed to support team. I called about 15-20 times that day sitting near the hotel desk wasting about 3 hours, Then a gentlemen who takes new reservation and helps with that again told that he will re route the call but I asked him that I am stuck in the same loop and I am very tired and not well at all so he can help, he sympathised me and told me that either you have to make a new reservation or you have to cancel it nd ask for refund. Once I cancel then he will request for refund and money will be reverted in 14 days. I told him that I will cancel my booking and request for refund as I was tired. I did the same and requested for refund and listed my reason as Hotel denied check-in. They had cut some amount and remaining was reflected in the app as refund initiated and will be processed under 14 days. I was waiting for the same till today i.e. 23 August 2022 and checked the booking and it shows refund details 0 Rs. I tried reaching out to OYO again and it has put me in the same loop again. Their automated caller system asks to press 1 for English then Asks to put mobile number followed by last 4 digits of the booking id and then it again asks to press 1 and again the number and last 4 digits of booking id and this never ends. It is a scam and a fraud by the so called industry leader and market disruptor.
