I had airtel broadband in 2018 and 2019. I had paid over Rs. 3,000 in January 2020 for service for about 6 months just before I moved. Airtel promised to install broadband at the new house, but dragged their feet for 2 weeks and never installed it. I switched carriers to Act. However, they didn’t refund my money. I requested a refund and they promised to do so within 10 days. After 15 days had passed, I emailed them and I got another apology and a guarantee of refund within 10 days. Another 15 days passed and when I asked for status, they continued to tell me over several emails back and forth that they’re working on it.
Then I got an email saying that the money had already been refunded which never happened. When I told them that I never received it, they asked for my bank statement which I sent to them. After several more emails they completely ignored the previous conversation and said it has been refunded.
Several more emails later, they are saying that there is refund pending.
I’m not sure how many people have been defrauded by airtel but I hope we don’t support such a blatantly dishonest company. I intend to post this wherever I can.
