Got a call from Meesho service centre (name shown in true caller). The person told me that he is calling regarding my pending refund. And said they are facing issue in order to refund, I need to verify my payment details, and they can do by connecting with my system and asked me to download anydesk app. After that they asked me to open Meesho app and open product detail etc. Later they told me to verify my payment details. I even received message and mail from Meesho during this call that attempt to refund has failed . Even got push message from the app saying the same. After which I became more confident about the person’s identity and followed his instructions to receive my refund. Then suddenly I received a message from my bank account saying 10,000 INR debited,. And soon receive a call from my bank asking me if there is any dispute, so I complained and my bank blocked my card immediately. In the meanwhile that person was still on line . And when I accused him of this he tried to say that it was by mistake. And was asking me login to bank account for verification , so that he can refund back that debited amount immediately. By that time I knew he was a fraud and asked to connect me with his superior. He even threatened ,that if I don’t follow instructions, I won’t get back my money. When I didn’t oblige he hung. Soon after I lodged a complain with my bank and cybercrime site.
