Hi,
Lately, I have been facing issues with booking tatkal ticket. Whenever, I open the IRCTC website to book tickets at the specified tatkal time (10:00 am) but either the website keeps loading, the captcha keeps loading or as soon as I log in i am being logged out.
This happened again few days back when I tried to book tatkal tickets for my mother and grandmother. Both of them fall in senior citizen category but there was no ticket available in any of the categories except tatkal. So, i decided to book the tickets at tatkal slots. The date was 23.05.2023 and i was trying to book the tickets for 24.05.2023. Again I started facing same issue as mentioned above. I was not being able to log in. I even asked my brother to try out. Both of us were using 2 devices individually, but couldn’t log in in any of it. By the time we logged in, the tickets were gone. There were more than 100 tickets available in tatkal in almost all of the trains from Delhi to Patna and we found none.
We then tried booking for sleeper class at 11:00 am. My brother and I constantly kept trying to log in for more than 20 minutes but failed.
The same story repeated for the next day. We didn’t find any tickets even when plenty of tickets were available before the tatkal slots.
It was quite frustrating for us investing our energy constantly for 2 days and still being failed.
I urge the government to keep the IRCTC website in safe hands. It becomes very difficult for people like us to book tickets. The tatkal option doesn’t mean anything if someone is simply unable to log in and book tickets.
I request Railways to work on cyber security and increase the security of the IRCTC website.
I hope the problem gets resolved soon.
