I had applied for MNP from Vodafone to Airtel and provided all documents on 3 February 2019. The MNP was processed and I received a message from Airtel on 8 February which is reproduced below and a screenshot of the message is also attached.“”Dear Customer, your porting request for mobile no. 9702029090 to Airtel has been validated by your current operator. The number will be ported-in to Airtel by 08-02-2019 23:50. Once your phone displays no network, please insert the airtel SIM and restart your device to call 59059 for tele-verification of your number.”I checked today morning and my Vodafone service was deactivated. At 7.15 am I called up Airtel for the verification which was successfully completed and I was informed by the IVR that the number will be activated in 30 minutes. I restarted my phone after 30 minutes but could not dial any number. I tried restarting after every 30 minutes to no avail. At 9am I called the Airtel helpline and was told that the number would start within 2 hours. I restarted my phone after 11 am but could not make any calls nor was mobile network available. I then called up the helpline again from my wife’s phone and was kept on hold numerous times but finally managed to speak to the supervisor. Finally after 30 minutes into the call I was told that I would have to wait for ‘some more time’. This time was not quantified.The question is how can tthey ttellthat the number will be activated in 30 minutes and not start it even after 4 hours. What sort of service is this. I spent so much time just checking for the network and calling their helpline. At no point did I get an assurance that someone would call with positive news. I have been left in the lurch.
- Their response has been very pathetic. They have not bothered to call up on the alternate numbers that I have provided over the phone. Their response to my emails has just been to quote the TRAI rules and ask for details some of which are already with the
- Right now I do not have mobile service for the past two days and still there is no network.
A completely unprofessional approach and lack of care for the customer.
Therefore I have no choice but to approach you for help and justice.
