Respected Sir /Ma’am,
My name is Jayshree Tambuskar daughter of J B JOSEPH(Bill name), residing at NAVAGAON, DAHISAR WEST. MUMBAI-400068.
We are a family of three living in Chawl in a very small room and we have no other appliances except an old TV & Fan here.
Being from an SC Community and being a middle class common man of Mumbai, today we are facing lots of financial issues due to sudden high amount of electricity bills slapped to us by TATA, which is completely irrelevant.
Our bill amount in Jan 2020 was only 1105 rs (receipt for the same is attached below).
Till March the bill was of similar amount. However suddenly our bill amount was more than double since April 2020 to July 2020 (bills for the same are attached below), while OUR HOUSE WAS LOCKED FROM APRIL 2020 TO MAY 2020 (for complete 2 months).
Now, for the current payable month i.e., October 2020 bill amount for 1 month is Rs. 1329 (bill picture attached below) & the pending amount shown in the bill is Rs. 22,649.
The sudden increase in bill amount is bothersome and smells some electricity theft issue. Also, due to loss of job and me being the only source of income, I am in no capacity to pay the pending dues for electricity I never used.
I have complained to TATA POWER multiple times but they only tell me they can’t help me in any way and the meter reading is correct. I am being forced to pay this exceeding amount. Failing to do so will result in disconnection of power supply. You understand very well how difficult it is even to have breads for 2 times a day at this unfortunate scenario of Lockdown & Economy/Job Crises. Hence, at this point of time even EMI option is completely irrelevant at the scenario when I am no where capable to pay such high amount that I have never ever consumed.
Being a regulatory body, you are our last hope. Hence, I request you to kindly intervene and help us out in this situation and do the needful on immediate priority.
