Text of Complaint by Kishalaya Bhattacharjee:

I would like bring to your kind notice that I have taken Airtel pre-paid mobile connection with No. 9862476825 during 2006-07 for Rs. 999/-  with the terms and conditions of Life Time Validity  for incoming calls  upto 2025. Since then I am this service with free incoming calls without any problem. Suddenly, the incoming call services has been stopped with effect from 12.12.2108, which effects my day to day service and as a result I have to suffer a lot financially as well as with mental agony. When I have contacted over phone with Airtel customer care service at No. 9862098620 on 10.1.2019 it has been informed that I have to recharge for a sum of Rs. 35 for 28 days validity, which is very much surprising and misleading to a customer. Thus I am compelled to approach the Consumer Complaint Court for redressel of my grievance so as ensure restore service with incoming facility up to its agreed validity i.e. upto 2025 without levying any extra charges as now informed by the service provider as well as compensation for harassing a customer by violating the original agreement at the time of taking connection and also for mental agony.

Suddenly, the service i.e. outgoing & incoming calls of my Now I have received a message from Airtel that the validity of my mobile is going to expire on 13.12.2018 & recharge for Rs. 23/- for extending the validity for 28 days. When i have paid Rs. 999/- for Lifetime Validity how they can reduce my Validity date. For this 999/- recharge I wasn’t given any talk-time this recharge was only for Lifetime Validity. Pleas take a proper action against this Company for Such Theft. Please fine heavily Airtel on this fraudaulant act which is forcefully compelling his lifetime prepaid customers to recharge the mobile.

Yours faithfully
