Text of Complaint by K.Sandeep:

My name is K.Sandeep Solmon, I hail from Visakhapatnam. I am to bring it to your kind notice and necessary action against Indigo Airlines as they have closed the boarding before 1hour for the flight No.6E-6336 from PUNE to BANGALORE on 18th October, 2022 at 04:35 AM.

I have booked a total of 6 tickets (5 Adults + 1Child) for my family from PUNE to VIZAG via Bangalore and Kadapa with PNRs ( PNR – SZ9HFR, PNR – HK5VUI. )
On, 18-10-2022 we reached the Pune Lohegaon Airport by 3:10 AM as it rained heavily and traffic was stuck and we went through two scans as check-in formality one Pune Airport Authorities and other by Indigo Airlines before reaching the check-in counter and unfortunately it took a lot of time as there was a bulk check-in for children (nearly 40 students) travelling from PUNE to CHENNAI.

After passing through all the formalities, we reached the check-in counter by 3:40 AM and the officer told us that boarding was closed at 3:30 AM after repeated announcements. However, we did not listen to any of such announcements which can be cross checked by the Airport Recording Data.

In fact, the Indigo officer closed the boarding a bit earlier to manage the bulk check-in for the next flight from PUNE to CHENNAI. As we were travelling with a child we have requested the officer a lot but, the result was a wild goose chase. The officer could have given us a chance to board the flight as we were 6 members (an older woman and a child but, wantedly stopped us to do a favour for his company Indigo.

Later, another lady officer talked to us and informed us that upon paying Rs.15000/- (Rs.2500/- per person) she will arrange for the next flight from PUNE to CHENNAI and CHENNAI to VIZAG. The same situation did not happen not only to us but also to other passengers travelling to Ahmedabad. It is all because of the bulk check-in and the officers are unable to manage the in flow.

We really had a bitter experience with Indigo for charging extra amount of Rs. 15000/- (Recepit attached) and during our on-ward journey from CHENNAI – VIZAG after, boarding the flight it was delayed for more than 30min for which it is not considered as an issue and we cannot question anyone but if a consumer is facing an issue it’s worth of nothing.

Sir, in this connection I request you to take necessary action and order the Indigo Airlines to refund the amount which was charged extra. I would be thankful for your consideration in this regard.
