I am currently residing in Saini, Greater Noida originally from Gaya bihar, I am newly admitted student at Delhi University and I was looking for PG on Magicbricks mobile app
The PG is called Prateek Singh PG with the address of Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi
The PG owner demanded a deposit of Rs.2000 which I first argued but he said it’s for issuing a visiting card for the PG room if we don’t like the PG room we can get our money refunded. I did the payment
Next he obliged for Rs.4010 and said Rs.10 will be refunded I did so. Next he said I submitted wrong amount so I need to pay Rs.4010 to make the proper transaction. I did that too.
After that he said since I’ve done many payments the transaction is stuck and I have to do a lump sum amount of Rs.7998 and the rest will be given back to me. I argued with them but they told me that i will give you the whole amount back this is last transaction. I was keep on doing this as i have contacted this pg from trusted app of magicbricks
Then they played the same trick, and asked for another 7998 then again asked for 6000 for 1st month rent and then he told me to transfer 9920 and other 2900 and he is again telling me that you need to submit 7010 for clearency amount to get your refund back in your account. I argued him to refund my money back And only then I’ll continue the conversation but he cut the call and tell me to submit the remaining amount only then I’ll refund your money.
Total amount I was scammed were Rs.44836
From there I reported to Cybercrime online, then informed my bank and currently informing the physical cybercrime cell in Greater Noida as I was scammed while I’m in Greater Noida,Uttar Pradesh.
The problem is why is Magicbricks claiming this PG as their “Verified Partner” when they have not verified them. If they had verified they wouldn’t do this.
I request you to please look into this and help me. I have been left with no money in my account.
